Chaffinch Site

I decided to try the mist net in a new location. Which is slightly more open and more exposed than the last site.

So far it has been more successful in trapping Chaffinches than the last site. With 5 male and 3 female caught.

Juvenile male Bullfinch (left). Red feathers beginning to grow through (right) is an indication that it is a male.

 And a peacock butterfly.

Make that 13!!!

Make that 13 species ringed!!! Three more ringed this afternoon.

10 species in just over a week!!!

Ten species ringed in my garden in just over a week!!!
Number ten being the Treecreeper.

The highlight

The highlight of this morning's ringing session was a juvenile Great spotted woodpecker!!! Just in time as well as I was about to pack up for work.

Other species ringed this morning included the Great tit, Blue tit and Robin.

Coal tit ringed this afternoon after work (my second one), as well as three Blue tits.
